Additional Information about NBA ShootOut 2000 (Sony PlayStation 1, 1999)
NBA Shootout 2000 is the latest basketball game from 989 Sports. Motion-capture is provided by seven real NBA players, bringing the total to a staggering 300 different moves. Every NBA player is included here, along with all their signature moves. Some of the newer basic moves range from the Drop Step to the Killer Crossover.
Authentic 3D players and arenas (with animated crowds) are recreated in the game and scaled to each player’s actual height, weight and body style, in addition to clothing such as socks, wristbands, armbands, kneepads and hairstyles.
Commentary is courtesy of Ian Eagle, and the different camera angles are presented in a TV telecast style. Dunks are also a huge part of the game with over 42 different ones within. If you cannot find one that you like then you can create up to 12 of your own, courtesy of the unique Create Dunk mode.
Another big change here from previous versions is the Touch Shooting meter feature, which allows you to get a good feel for your shot. Holding the X-button, you must release it when the bar goes into either the green or yellow zone. If you release it in another zone, chances for hitting your shot are greatly decreased.
Play with up to eight of your friends using two Multi Tap adapters. Enhance the gameplay by using a Dual Shock Analog Controller and make sure you save the game to any memory card. With playoffs, exhibition and full seasons, NBA Shootout 2000 will have you taking on all of your favorite NBA personalities.
